I Would Do Anything For You - Foster the People
All those times I was hoping for something
And shaking my head from all I have done
But you never left me
Oh my god youre straight? I had no idea. You seem normal to me. Did you know that Sara is straight to? You two should totally hook up. I cant believe youre straight. You could be my straight best friend. We could go to football games together. Itll be so much fun. So like how long have you been straight? Youre whole life!? No way.
i think one of the reasons i love the city at night … or the city in general … if you really think about it. the crowded streets and intersections, cars packed tight on the freeway … there are so, SO many drastically different lives being lived, not a single person’s life alike. and in the city, tons of these crazily differing thought processes and feelings and hormones and identities are brought together in a way. while each of these traits remain exclusive to each being … they intersect. walking on the street in the city, you’ll pass by tens to hundreds of people, all of whom have varying traits like such. and you, your thought process and feelings and hormones and identity, acknowledges that person you pass, and that person’s thought process and feelings and all come into your head, and it’s almost crazy. driving through the city at 9 pm, passing by cars on the highway, you might not think about it. but, every single living being on this interstate, is different from you. they have freckles on their hands, or they have a funny memory on their mind, they are sitting in their car laughing about something that happened weeks ago. they are listening to classical music as they make their way home because it relaxes them after a tiring day at work across the city, or they are listening to nothing, because they dropped their ipod in the toilet, but they told their friends that they dropped it in a puddle, and listening to the radio would just remind them of that short-circuited mp3 player. every person, in their cars, has a different family, life, and mind than you … they have a different starting point and a different destination. but there is so much mystery in all of this. because you will never know all of these things, about all of these people. most of them. because if you close your eyes for a second, once you open them, everything has changed. there are new lives before you, moving past you and toward their next destination, if they have one. in the city, everyone is out there for someone to see, but everyone is partially unseen.
